Our Grand Master – Most Worshipful Jeffrey M. Williamson and Grand Marshall Right Wor. James Kintzel
Saint John’s Day has always held a special place in the hearts of Masons the world over. In New York we gather in Utica on the Grounds of the Masonic Care Community to celebrate Freemasonry and receive the message of our Grand Master. This year’s Saint John’s Weekend was special for many reasons. It was the first of our new Grand Master – Most Wor. Jeffrey M. Williamson – and if you know the Grand Master he does not do anything small! This was an amazing weekend. On Friday night ,which for the last few years has been a simple picnic, our Grand Master held a Western HoDown with all the trimmings. BBQ, live music, and with an attendance of over of 500 people and amazing success. A Real gathering of all of New York Masonry.
We even hosted a dunking booth. Our Grand Master was the first in the booth due to a challenge given down by the Care Community. If $5,o00 was donated during the weekend he would get in to be dunked. Well we did it and then some! Between the First and Second Erie Districts alone we donated $3,000 to the hall. This money was then used to get matching donations amounting to $6,000. This earned Erie the First Pitch at the Grand Master. As “reward” the pitcher, Right Wor. Di Natale, got his chance in the booth to help out.
That Saturday even with the beating sun hundreds gathered for the parade and address of our Grand Master. It was something to see and be part of. We had three cameramen working the event for First and Second Erie and photos are still being added. To view them like us on Facebook here for First Erie and here for Second Erie.
