Windom Elementary School Veterans Day Assembly

veterans-day-flier

Brothers,

Attached is a flyer for Windom elementary school in the Orchard Park School District. They have for a number of years put together a very moving ceremony that involves the entire school student population to honor our veterans. I have been asked to pass along the information to our masonic community since there are so many veterans among our brotherhood. In addition to the ceremony that begins Thursday 11/10 at 9:30, they invite veterans and active service personnel and their families to a breakfast beforehand at 8:30am. There is no way to explain how wonderful this ceremony is, it is not something that should be missed. They are also asking veterans and active service personnel, even those unable to attend, to send pictures (printed or electronic) beforehand of themselves or family in uniform to be posted as part of the celebration. This is a way for the students and service personnel to put a face to their counterparts for this holiday, it gives the students a way to see who it is they are celebrating and hopefully reminds our service personnel what they sacrificed for and allows them to see that their sacrifice is appreciated.
